This interview about "Israel Fashion Art" was held on April 1, 2010 on TV's Channel 1. TV personality Liat Regev interviewed the book's author Nurit Bat-Yaar while she was in the Jerusalem's IBA studio and Nurit Bat-Yaar was in the Tel-Aviv's TV studio. Liat Regev showed about 20 photos from the book introducing it as "an exciting book which intoxicates the senses" .Among the pictures shown were Singer Ofra Haza's Yemenite coins hood, Bar Refaeli in a special T shirt from the chapter "Talking Clothes", Tami Ben-Ami un her own scarfs-outfit creation, Gideon Oberson 60s gown with a filigree back, Lea Gottlieb of Gottex' fantastically colorful beach-wear, Yaron Minkowski's fabulous, creative golden hat-mask, Fini Leitersdorf's for Maskit embroidered caftan as well as her outstanding design inspired by Artist Y. Simon's painting and her amazing Hamsa inspired outfit, Rozi Ben-Yosef's Kafia-fabric caftans, Rosh Indiani in an artistic Miro inspired print, Dani Bar-Shai's great patchwork skirt, and many other great images. At the end of the interview referring to the artistic rose choker Nurit Bat-Yaar was wearing Liat Regev inquired "where is this fantastic thing you are wearing from?" - at this point Nurit told her that a photo of this object d'art designed by Dori Csengeri was in the book as well, adding that Dori Csengeri is a very successful artist whose unique jewelry is exhibited in the international arena both in prestigious stores and in magazines, and that in one of the "Sex and the City" programs her earrings were featured on Cynthia Nixon. .
The book referred to by the press as "Israel's Fashion Bible" and an "exemplary photo archive", and by Museum Art curators "A Masterpiece", takes the reader through the development of the rich, colorful, and authentic identity of Israeli fashion, which was developed by Fini Leitersdorf of "Maskit" & was inspired by the arts and crafts of the Hebrew tribes gathered together from over 100diasporas. The book is divided into 28 conceptual chapters which follow chronologically the fashion scene. The discussion is diversified with cultural, political & social perspectives.
The book also emphasizes various aspects of wearable art such as the use of seashells, hand-paint and sculptural designs, conceived by world swimwear queen Leah Gottlieb of "Gottex", haute-couture master Gideon Oberson and many other gifted designers. In addition, the book sheds light on imaginative-futuristic creations by students at leading Israel design colleges such as Shenkar, Bezalel and Wizo-Haifa. Finally this fashion-art book embodies the fabulous success of Israeli designers abroad, topped by international star Alber Elbaz who made the distinguished "Time 100" list, and according to "Vogue" magazine, "transformed Lanvin into the fashion world's most-wanted label".
